1. Introduction

Welcome to Safon ("the App"), developed by Sefion IT Services. We believe your files and documents belong to you. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Safon mobile application. Safon is built with an offline-first, privacy-by-design architecture to ensure you remain in full control of your personal data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Safon does not require user account registration and does not collect, transmit, or store your scanned documents, PDF files, images, or private vault records on our servers.

A. Local On-Device Processing

All core features—including document scanning, edge cropping, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), PDF generation, PDF merging, compression, and biometric vault encryption—run 100% locally on your device. Your files are never uploaded to remote servers unless you explicitly choose to share them using third-party apps or services.

B. Third-Party Services

To maintain app reliability and provide essential services, Safon integrates select third-party SDKs that operate under their respective privacy policies:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to deliver non-intrusive advertisements in the free tier. In applicable regions (such as the EEA/UK), Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used to obtain user consent. Google Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics: Collects anonymous diagnostics and crash stack traces to help us resolve software bugs and optimize performance. No document content or file names are ever collected. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • Google Drive (Optional): If you choose to connect cloud backup, Safon only requests the minimal auth/drive.file scope, which only permits access to files created directly by Safon.

3. Device Permissions We Request

Safon requests device permissions strictly to deliver its core productivity features:

  • Storage & All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_*): Required to organize files, create folders, manage PDF outputs, and extract zip archives across your internal storage.
  • Camera: Used exclusively when you open the Document Scanner or QR/Barcode scanner tool.
  • Biometrics: Used strictly via the Android BiometricPrompt hardware security module to unlock your private Secure Vault. Safon never has access to raw biometric templates or fingerprint images.
  • Local Network / Wi-Fi: Used when you activate the Wi-Fi Transfer server to move files between your phone and your PC over the local network.

4. Data Security & Encryption

We employ industry-standard on-device security protocols. Files moved into the Secure Vault are encrypted and stored in isolated application sandboxes to prevent unauthorized access by third-party applications.

5. Children's Privacy

Safon does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Because Safon does not harvest user profiles, no child data is ever stored on our servers.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
