1. Introduction

Welcome to Safon ("the App"), developed by Sefion Technologies Limited. We believe your files and documents belong to you. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Safon mobile application. Safon is built with an offline-first, privacy-by-design architecture to ensure you remain in full control of your personal data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Safon does not require user account registration and does not collect, transmit, or store your scanned documents, PDF files, images, or private vault records on our servers.

A. Local On-Device Processing

All core features—including document scanning, edge cropping, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), PDF generation, PDF merging, compression, and biometric vault encryption—run 100% locally on your device. Your files are never uploaded to remote servers unless you explicitly choose to share them using third-party apps or services.

B. Third-Party Services

To maintain app reliability and provide essential services, Safon integrates select third-party SDKs that operate under their respective privacy policies:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to deliver non-intrusive advertisements in the free tier. In applicable regions (such as the EEA/UK), Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used to obtain user consent. Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics: Collects anonymous diagnostics and crash stack traces to help us resolve software bugs and optimize performance. No document content or file names are ever collected. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google Drive (Optional): If you choose to connect cloud backup, Safon only requests the minimal auth/drive.file scope, which only permits access to files created directly by Safon.
• Firebase Authentication & Cloud Functions: Used for optional sign-in and secure entitlement verification for paid features. These services do not ingest your private documents or vault file content.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Optional): Used to deliver optional service notifications. You can disable app notifications at any time in device settings.

3. Device Permissions We Request

Safon requests device permissions strictly to deliver its core productivity features:

• Storage & All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_*): Required to organize files, create folders, manage PDF outputs, and extract zip archives across your internal storage.
• Camera: Used exclusively when you open the Document Scanner or QR/Barcode scanner tool.
• Biometrics: Used strictly via the Android BiometricPrompt hardware security module to unlock your private Secure Vault. Safon never has access to raw biometric templates or fingerprint images.
• Local Network / Wi-Fi: Used when you activate the Wi-Fi Transfer server to move files between your phone and your PC over the local network.
• Package Visibility / App Install Actions: Certain utility features may request package visibility or package install/delete intents to support file installer and app management flows initiated by you.

4. Data Security & Encryption

We employ industry-standard on-device security protocols. Files moved into the Secure Vault are encrypted and stored in isolated application sandboxes to prevent unauthorized access by third-party applications.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Safon is a general productivity tool intended for users aged 13 and older (or 16 and older in the EEA and United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Because all document scanning, PDF tools, and Secure Vault features run locally without cloud harvesting, child document data is never transmitted to our servers. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately at support@safon.app so we can delete it promptly.

6. Account & Data Deletion Rights

In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies, GDPR Article 17, and CCPA, users who link their account with Google Sign-In have the permanent right to delete their cloud account and all associated reward, referral, and credit records.

You can request deletion immediately in the Safon Android app under More > Settings > Delete Account & Cloud Data, or submit a request online via our dedicated Account & Data Deletion Page.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses minimal essential local storage to remember user preferences. We do not use third-party cross-site tracking cookies. In the mobile app, ad consent is managed via Google's official User Messaging Platform (UMP). For full details, please review our Cookie Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
